Das Projekt VERGE ist Teil des EU-Programms Horizon Europe, das die Forschung zu den größten aktuellen Herausforderungen Europas, z.B. Energie und Klimawandel, unterstützt. Hauptziel des VERGE-Projekts ist die Entwicklung einer Proof-of-Concept-N2-Elektrolysezelle zur Herstellung von flüssigem Ammoniak, wobei die Elektrolyse mit nachhaltigen Energiequellen gekoppelt ist.
